Podravje
The winegrowing region Podravje comprises about 9,813 hectares of vineyards and as such represents the biggest winegrowing region in Slovenia. Nevertheless it ranks only second in the production of wine, immediately after the winegrowing region of Primorska. The Podravje winegrowing region is further divided into seven districts spreading as far as the border with Hungary, the slopes of Pohorje mountain, Slovenske Gorice and Haloze Hills and Kozjansko. The region is famous in particular for its white wines.
