303. Room of the Counts Leslie

Posterity, The Leslies in Ptuj (1656 - 1802). Double-bed.

The feudal families of Ptuj Castle seemed eternal and invincible. The Lords of Ptuj ruled for three centuries and departed because they had no male heirs. In 1656, the castle was bought and renovated by the Scottish Count Walter Leslie. A seemingly eternal period of lordship began anew, but after only a century and a half, the Leslie family was left without a male heir. It is almost as if Ptuj Castle had a curse against male posterity.
