Jožef Kipertz, owner of the house (today's Hotel Mitra) from 1785 to 1802.

Jožef Kipertz, a coffee roaster from Ptuj, bought the hotel building on “Gosposka ulica 65” in 1785 and also acquired a commerce permit with it, as it had previously been a shop. He turned the building into one of the first and most famous cafés in Ptuj, opened a large ballroom in it and was the first to bring billiards to Ptuj.

He was host to regular balls and social evenings, and above all an excellent trader and coffee roaster. The daily chatter of local dignitaries was from then on accompanied by Kipertz coffee.
